Mikael Rudolfsson, trombone
Mikael Rudolfsson (born 1987 in Stockholm) held a position as principal trombone with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra for one season when he was 20 and then continued his studies in Hanover and Basel. He can be seen as an actor/musician in several theater productions and was invited with ”Atlas der abgelegenen Inseln” to the Berliner Theatertreffen. He has appeared with orchestras and ensembles like Gävle Symphony Orchestra and the Far East Philharmonic and has played frequently as a guest with Ensemble Modern and Klangforum Wien. His passion for the music of our day has led to numerous performances at the most established festivals worldwide, like Donaueschingen, Huddersfield, Wien Modern, cresc… Frankfurt, and Festival Internacional Cervantino Guanajuato to name a few. Additionally, Mikael Rudolfsson is running his own constellations and ensembles like Ensemble Schwerpunkt, Trio HDR, and the Orchester im Treppenhaus. He has recorded for broadcasting companies like Deutschlandfunk, BR, HR, SWR, NDR, SRF, and Wergo, and GENUIN.
Starting in Autumn 2018, Rudolfsson has taught trombone at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
Mikael Rudolfsson became a member of Klangforum Wien in 2017.
