The idea that glass is both immutable and fragile – that it won’t rust or fade\, but at the same time can break in the blink of an eye – is at the heart of the work. \n\n\n\nØyvind Torvunds Plans is part of an on-going series in which the orchestra plays “sketches” of works that are never written. It lets Torvund’s magical\, playful and radical imagination run wild. \n\n\n\nYesterday is a continuation of Lars Petter Hagen’s reflections on the past – on cultural history and memory. It is based on the writings of Stefan Zweig and the orchestral repertoire from 1900-1939. \n\n\n\nThe evening ends with a new work by the South African composer Andile Khumalo.
