DESCRIPTION:OLGA NEUWIRTH: CORONATION I-VI \n   November 13\,\n13.00 - \n23.30 \n Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab (ehemalige Postsparkasse) / MAK\, Wien\, Österreich \nIn a kind of defiant self-assurance\, Olga Neuwirth composed the series coronAtion against the background of a 249-day concert ban due to the corona pandemic. Together with the Angewandte\, the MAK and the mdw\, Wien Modern is bringing all six parts live to the stage for the first time. \nCoronAtion IV\, an immersive\, hypnotic room music for three percussionists and samples\, will be performed for the first time in full length of 19 x 31 minutes (whereby a short visit is just as possible as binge listening). At the start\, coronAtion I and III\, also in the cash hall of the former Postal Savings Bank designed by Otto Wagner\, will be heard halfway through coronAtion V. CoronAtion II and VI will be performed every hour on the other side of the Stubenring in the columned hall of the MAK. \nIncidentally\, this unconventional premiere in two architectural monuments of human encounters can also be understood as a celebration: Olga Neuwirth has been living in Vienna again after many years since her appointment as a professor at the mdw in 2021.
