DESCRIPTION:Now — Polish Perspectives \n   February 16\,\n18.00 - \n22.30 \n Wiener Konzerthaus\, Mozart-Saal\, Vienna\, Austria \nTime and again\, Poland surprises us. Once behind the Iron Curtain\, then part of its dismantling\, and today with a vivacity\, a national scene for New Music\, which seems unrivalled. Polish composers represent a type of advance that eludes any attempt at instrumentalization. \nIn cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute\, governed by the Ministry of Culture\, National Heritage and Sport. Financed by the Ministry of Culture\, National Heritage and Sport of the Republic of Poland as part of the Multi-annual Programme NIEPODLEGŁA 2017–2022. \nThe concert from our cycle series PRO©ESSION takes place at two times: 6:00 p.m. + 8:30 p.m. \nBetween the concerts — FERMATE\nBetween the concerts\, our discussion format FERMATE will take place again. We invite the cultural essayist Michał Mendyk as our guest\, who\, as an experienced curator\, critic and publisher of the new music scene\, creates a highly topical picture of Polish culture in dialogue with three of the Polish composers. \nMichał Mendyk is a Polish music journalist\, curator and producer specializing in experimental musical and interdisciplinary projects. He launched the Radical Polish Culture and Opera for the Deaf festivals. As a curator and expert\, he cooperated\, among others\, with the ZKM Karlsruhe center\, the Klanforum Wien ensemble\, the Mouse on Mars and Matmos duets\, the Ableton company\, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute\, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and the Ad Libitum and Sacrum Profanum festivals. He is one of the founders of the Glissando magazine. His book M.U.Z.Y.K.A.\, which he co-authored with Michał Libera\, was translated into Korean\, Czech and German as well as nominated for the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis (Wie das klingt?). He is currently the editor of the Ruch Muzyczny music magazine. He has been running his own record and book publishing house\, Bołt Records\, since 2008. \nThe CD box POLISH PERSPECTIVES is also exclusively available in our shop. \n__ \nThe project is organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the international cultural programme marking the centenary of Poland’s regained independence.
